THE STUDENT WORK ABOVE ANY'HING ATTEMPTED BY ANY OTHER COLLEC;E. The manngemient of the Tyler Co',m nmtrcial ('ollege have received diplom,' from the San Antonio International Fair Association, awarding them first I honors for the best exhibit of students' work in Bookhleping. Shorthand, Typewriting, Telegra phv and Penman ,hil . This premnium was awarded on the actual work of studernts, and sur prassed anything of this kind at the Fair, although San Arnttnii, itself boasts of three good commercial col leges. When the fact is taken into consideration. it will be readily seen how much suverior the work of the Tyler Commercial C'ollege must have been. All departments of this excellent college are growing so rapidly that it is almost beyond belief. The recent contract made with the Cotton Belt Railway to run a loop of their train order wire into the instruments of the advanced students, and to give their students a position on the road as soon as their course is completed, has added much to the already popular department of Telegraphy. Their exhibit at the San Antonio International Fair occupied a large double booth, wh;ch was beautifully decorated. Tre exhibits of Book keepineg. Shorthand, T% pewriting and Telegraphy were very conmplete and extensive, and showed very conclusive evidence of the thorough practical work done by this famous institution, of which all Texas and the entire South may well feel proud. YOU NEED NOT WAIT. Students ready to enroll in the Tyler Commercial College of Tyler, Texas, may do so at once, as their stay will will be made pleasant and profitable and they will receive instructions through the Christmas Holidays, with the exception of Christmas day. Students who prefer to spend Christ mas week at home will be given per. mission to do so. Marshall J. B. Lee Captures Horse Thief Friday. A negro giving his name as Perkins arrived in town Friday with a horse that he was very anxious to sell, which anxiety led to his capture. It seems that this negro, who lives near Roanoke stole the horse frem John Cramp, of Jennings, and rode him to Welsh where he tried to bell him to Chas. Dautel, a Welsh liveryman, but Mr. Dautel having bought a horse and experience under similar circum stances before was not taken in on this deal, but reported the matter to Marshall Lee, who after a brief in quiry into conditions and a phone message from Sheriff Reid. placed the man under arrest and with the assis tance of several temporary deputies landed him in the city bastile. The horse was afterward identified and se cured by its ofiner. Deputy sheriff Henry Reed came over on No. 10 and tiok his prisoner back to Lake tharles on No. 5. -~----- Comforts and blankets at all prices to suit customers. P.W. Daniels.
