Pace's and run- i ning north via W. H. Wheelus, J. A. Foad, E. A. Ford, Hickory a Valley, J. A. Abrams. C. C. I Adams and Willis Erskins was I granted. A petition was presented by I Mr. Willis from the property tax I payers of Hickory Ridge school district, asking for a special I election to be held for a period I of ten years, was granted. A -petition was presented by Mr. Willis, from the property tax payers of Hickory Valley I school district, asking for an election to be held ,for a special 5 mill tax for a period of five years, was granted. A report of the overseer to cut out a new road from Natchitoches road to Dugdemonia Iayou was received, and J. L. Chandler was appointed overseer on same for the ensuing year. Report of Robert Griffin, over seer to cut out new road from the Winnfield and Arcadia road to Rocky Bagan was received and Ed Garrett was appointed oser seer on same, from Winnield and Arcadia road to Dugdemonia bayou. On motion of Mr. Williams, That $1.90 claim of F. P. Mad den, services as serving warrants, was disallowed. On motion of Mr. Williams, Miss Viola Brady was placed oq the pauper list and Peter San difer was appointed agent for same. Peter Sandifer was ap poiinted agent for pauper Bob I Brady in place of L. Brewton's to parish line was received, and T. J. Peterson was appointed overseer on same for the ensuing yehr. On motion of Mr. Brewton, the sum of $360 was appropriated out of the bridRe fund to build bridges across two sloughs on Saline bayou swamp at Cloud crossing, and a committee of W. L. Alford, T. W. Ciifton and J. L. Brewton was appointed to dcraft plans, advertise, receive bids and let out contract tor same. On motion of Mr. Brewton. Mrs. Sarah Harper was placed on the pauper list, and E. E. Harper was appointed agent for same, and the suim of $7.50 was appro priated for her immediate relief. On motion of Mr. Franks, That an additional sum of $200, or as much thereof as may be necessary, be appropriated out of the bridge fund to.assist in build ing a bridge across Dugdemonia bayou at Carter's crossing. On motion of Mr. Porter, That the sum of $50, or as much thereof as may be necessary, be appropriated to erect an en closure around the cesspool at parish Jail, and a committee of J. W. Teddlie. b. M. Abel and Henry Perkins be appointed to contract and superintend same. On motion of Mr. Dunn, That the sum of $110, or as much thereof as may be necessary, be appropriated out of the bridge fund to build a bridge acroes Beech Creek on old Alexandria and Columbia road, and a com mlttee of J. E. Curry, Oscar Holmes and W. N. Duna, be ap pointed to draft plans, advertise, receive bids and le out contract for same. By Mr. Duna, That the sum of $3 be paid to J. B. Curry for repairing Pope Creek bridge. Carried. On motion of Mr. Brewton, - That the sum of $10 be appropri- - ated out of the bridge fund to ' repair bridge across Saline bayou - at Cloud crossing. Carried. On motion of Mr. Smith, That B a new road be cut, beginning 1-2 s mile west of range line between' 2 and 8 and running on or neMt the 1.2 mile hin the distance of 3-4 mile anid interseoting road a running from Dodson to Hudson, granted, and a commnitee of H. E. Davis, J. T. Davis, Wilborn Faith, T. Haigler, F. O. Davis and A. H. Allen be appointed to review and mark out same. On motion of Mr. 8mith, the sum of $40 was appspriaed for the immediate relief of Major Clark and paying the expenses to old soldiers' home at New Orleans. On motion of Mr. Porter, the sum of $250, or na much thereof as may be neoessary, be appro priated out of the bridge fund to build two bridges across Port de Luee creek on the Wianleld aad O'Possum Neok road, and a com mittee of A. Womack, Joe Leary and J. T.'Porter -be appointed to draft plans, advretis and rseuie bids and let out ntract for msam. On motion of Mr. Willis the following resolution was ofred: "Be it resolved by the Police Jury of the Parish of Wis., in regular session convened, that it is the sense of this body that the old jail lot be sold to the Eastern Star Lodge No. 151 F. AA. M., for the price and sum of $600, six hundred dollars, to be deposited in Bank of Winnield, and paid to President of the Police Jury or his successor in oiee when deed is made, for the reaso that same is of no value to the perish. and having erected a new jail it has no use for said property. "Be it farther resolved, eta., that we hereby request tLe Gen eral Assembly of the 8tats of Louisiana at its meeting to be held in 1908, to pass sa aet auth orisinF this Polioe Jury to sell and dispose of said property," Adopted.
