On motion of Director Savoie, duly r seconded, the minutes of the previous y meeting were adopted as read. -IOn motion of Director Jeanfreau, a duly seconded, the following report of n the Superintendent was accepted: Pointe-a-la-Hlache, La., July 5, '10. To the Honorable the President and Members of the Board of School Di rectors for Plaquemines Parish: Gentlemen:--I beg leave herewith to submit my report taking up only the, repairs necessary to place the school in good condition for next session. I retcommer.d that only such repairs be made as are absolutely necessary and where a school house is not in good shape that thorough repairs be made so that the building will not need any re pairs for two or three years. The minor repairs should he made during the session and after the Octo ber and November taxes have been col lected. The following school houses are in need of repair: Lower Buras, Home Place and Lower Pointe-a-la-Hache. I would ask that the Board author ize the construction of a good fence around the grounds of the Courthouse school. Respectfully submitted, EDWIN C. KOHN. Parish Superintendent. I On motion of Director Childress, duly I seconded, it was ordered that repairs ( be made to the Lower Buras school f house, equipment, etc. On motion of Director Cannon. duly S seconded, it was ordered that thorough C repairs be made to the Home Place school house. ' In view of the fact that there is no certainty as to the location of the S Lower Pointe-a-la-Hache school for next session, it was ordered, on motion of Dircetor Savoie, duly seconded, that the matter lay over until next meeting. On motion of Director Savoie, duly seconded, it was ordered that a fence be placed around the Courthouse school grounds and that the outhouse be placed V on the school lard. KOHN, Superintendent. 4 On motion of Director Savoie, duly seconded,the President appointed the following committees to audit the books of the Sheriff and Ex-Oflicio Tax Col lector and the books and accounts of the School Treasurer: Directors Savoie, Childress and Jean freau to audit the books and accounts of the Tax Collector and Directors, Giordano, Treadaway and Irandt to audit the books and accounts of the School Treasurer, The committees reported that they found the books and accounts of the Tax Collector and School Treasurer to be correct and on motion of Director Cannon, duly seconded, the Sheriff and Ex-Otticio Tax Collector. Frank (C. Mevers, was given his quietus as re quired by law. On motion of Director Cannon, duly seconded, the bill for repairs for Pilot Town school house was ordered paid. On motion of Director Cannon, duly seconded, the President was empowered to appoint an examining committee to assist the Superintendent at the sum mer examinations for teachers.
