WONDERE
ENGINIES
Some persons in this parish seem
to have the impression that the
Wonder Engine is a cheap engine.
Nothing could be further from
the truth. We do claim, how
ever, that you can pay a higher
price and get no better machine
for your money. The reason for
this is that there is no better en
gine on. the market today than
the Wonder, as far as the ma
terial, finish, workmanphip is
concerned, while every Wonder
Engine sold in this parish h.s
demonstrated. their wonderful
endurance, power and reliability,
even in the hands of an amateur.
Wonder Engines do not sell for
an exorbitant price because:
I. The Wonder Manufacturing
Co. is composed of people who
actually work in their own fac
tory and there is no heavy over
head expense for high salaried
officers.
2. We sell-you an .engine and
all that is necessary to operate
it and all other attachments that
you may wish added 'can be put
on at cost. With other machines
you have to take the attachments
whether you want thzm or not
anid that adds- greatly to the cost
of the engine-in some cases as
much as the engibe itself.
Ask our agent to prove the state
ments we have made. We sellou
easy terms-thereby showing you
that our engines are as standard
and reliable as sewing 'machines.

PRev. Father Colle, who has been ill
for some time, is now undergoing treat
ment at Touro Infirmary.
Jndge R. Emmet Hingle returned to
his home in our parish, after a stren
uous week in St. Bernard wher'e he has
been holding court.
Miss Bulah Borne, of Algiers, is
spending some time at the home of her
sister, Mrs. R. Emmet Hingle.
Mr. Duval, of the Board of State
Engineers and who is the head drafts
man of that body, was in .our town on
vusiness Thursday.
We-hear to our dissatisfaction that
the Louisiana Southern Railroad has
imposed an imposition upon the patrons
of that line in the lower sections of this
parish by making them change cars at
Poydras. Such a change would not be
so bad if there was some sort of shel
ter at Poydras, but as it is, there .is.not
a single place where a .person could
seek shelter in case of rain, while wait
ing for the other train. We hope we
are wrong in our judging the Company
wrongfully and that they will continue
to run their trains as before.
