One fellow from Breaux Bridge was so much in a hurry in writing his application that he forgot to sign the paper. The police jury will have to use a great deal of judgment in selec ting the road master, who should possess all the qualifications ne cessary to fill the office, and not listen to petitions and recommen dations from politicians. This office should not be a political plum to gratify the hunger of some politicians for political fa vors, and we hope the police jury will act independently in this mat tor, as upon the road master will "peBnd the success or failure of tLe Lew road ,ystenm.
