Regular meeting of the Parish Democratic Executive Committee 'held at St. Martinville, St. Martin Parish, La., Dec. 18th 1899. The following named members 'answered to their names: T. J. Labbe, John Comeau, Henry He 'bert, Oneziphore Guidry, Justin Fonguy, Dr. A. Guilbeau, R. J. 'Thibodeaux, Jean Domec, Arthur 'Courville, Adolphe Thibodeanux, Proxy, Hermogene Hebert, Robt. .Martin, Proxy. A quorum being present on mo lion duly made and carried Mr. 'T. J. Labbe was elected as presi 'dent of this committee and Rene J. Thibodeaux as secretary. On motion made and seconded the following resolutions were pre aented to tht, committee and were 'unanimously adopted, viz: Whereas, It is an established rule in the Democratic Party that the wish of the majority shall be respected. Be it resolved that whereas the White Democrats of the Parish of St. Martin have emphatically de 'clared by an overwhelming major ity that the following parties were 'duly elected and nominated at the Parish Democratic Primary held ou Dec. 16th 1899, viz: For Sheriff Oneziphore Badon, Clerk of Court A. V. Fleming, Co roner Dr. Arthur Guilbeau, Re presentatives Albert F. Domen geaux, David Duchamp, Police Jrors first ward, C. M. Olivier, A. P. Reaweber, Justices of the Peace first ward W. A. Bienvenu, F. Z. Power, Cons. B. Bertrand, E. Q(ueriaiere, Second as Police Ju ror Carl Larson, Second ward Jus 'tice of the Peace A. J. Verret, For Constable Second ward Alphonse Verret, 3rd ward Police Juror J. Laurent Ducrest, 3rd ward Justice of the Peace Alcee Wiltz, 3rd ward Constable Victor Maraist, 4th ward Police Juror Joseph Pellerin, 4th ward Justices of the Peace Olivier Broussard, Jr., Pierre Olivier, 4th ward Censthbles Eraste Chbam vpague, Edward Thibodeaux, 5th ward Police Juror Rosembert Du puy, 5th ward Justice of the peace Alcide A. We the Democratic Parish Corm snitee, do hereby officially and formally declare and announce the above parties to be the Regular Democratic nominees of the Pa rish of St. Martin for the respec tive offices as above at the state election to be held on the th day of April 1900, viz: the General State Elections in Louisiana. And that we the Democratic Parish Executive Committee of the Parish of St. Martin, Louisi ana, do further officially announce and declare that the following named parties having received a majority of the votes cast at the aforesaid Democratic Primary on Dec. 16th 1899, to-wit: T. J. Labbe, Gilbert Durand, Frank Robin, Adam Potier, Dan Martin, A. A. Ransonnet, A. E. Broussard, Aristide Barras, Ernest Gilard, Sosthene Zeringue, Paulin Latiolais, Beanregard Dupuy and the said parties are hereby decla red to be the delegates to repre sent the Parish of St Martin at the state nominating convention to be held at Baton Rouge, La., December 20th 1899, said dele gatee present at said convention to cast the votes of the parish. That we the Parish Democratic Exeenutive Committee in session assembled do hereby declare that whereas the defunct Democratic Executive Committee of this Pa rish has failed in its duty to pro mulgate the returns of the demo cratic primary held in this Pa rish on the 16th day of December 1899 as per their resolutions adop ted at their session on the 12th day of November 1899 we do therefore officially publish an nounce and promulgate said pri mary election according to the tally sheets and returns duly sign ed by the commissioners at said elections as follows, to-wit: OFFICIAL RETURNS, ELECTION DECEMBER I6th, 1899.
