MORSE, L J. PARKS, Ps**- Tral. Mr. GO.P. ?T. A Chairmaun Labbe called our at tention to the fact that the word "Democrat" was left out in the copy furnished us, of the resolu tions of the parish committee, and that'the second paragra4h 'should have read "That a Democratic pri mary..." instead of "That a .pri mary..." But this correction does not change the qualification of the voters, we know it to be a Democratic primary, under Dem ocratic auspices, but if it was not the intention of the 'committee to invite all white men to vote at the primary they would have framed the resolution to snit their ideas, they had the power to limit the qualification to only tried Demo crats, but they wanted to be liber al and allowed all white men to vote regardless of their past poli tical affiliation, or 'mistakes, and this was done more with the idea of roping in the bolters then with the idea of getting Republican vote for the regular Democrats, and they have passed a resolutiqn to that effect, which is, in our opinion, perfectly clear, and which says exactly what was intended by the committee. Mrs. 'C. E. VanDeusen, of Kilbourn, Wis., was amletea with stomach trouble and eenstipation for a long time. She says, "I have tried many preparations but none have done me the good that Chamberlain's Stomach and Liver Ta blets have." These Tablets are for sale 1t T. J.-Labbe's drug store Price Me. Samples free, No State Law Against Trust. 'Daila Pleayru. The Supreme Court of the Uni ted States yesterday declared un constitutional the Illinois State Statute prohibiting all combina tions and trusts to monopolize or control er restrain trade, on the ground that its prohibitions did not extend to the cornering or controlling or monopolizing the trade in agricultural products, when carried on by farmers. Un der the Illinois law, farmers could form trusts to deal in theit own products, while all other trtusts were prohibited. The Courit de clares that in its prohibition, the law moust make no exceptions. This decision, as a matter of. course, applies to all State anti trust laws which make similar ex ceptions. The Louisiana State anti-trust law of 1892 falls under the decision, because, while prohi biting all trusts in commerce, manufacturing and transportation, it makes the following exceptions: "That the provisions of the act shall not apply to agricultural pro ducts or five stock, whjle in the hands of the prodrcer or raiser, nor be so contreed as to affect any combination or confederation of labors, for the purpose of procur ing an increase in their wages or redress of grievances." Appareat ly farmers' and stock raisers and laborers; trusts are to be included in any prohibitory legislation, and the State laws, being declared null, there is no law against trusts in this or any State whose statute possesses the defect mentioned.
