S, Martin spent the week in New Orleans. Mrs. F. E. Clement left this week for Donaldsonville to spend a few days with her parents. -Miss Alice Danterive of Lo reauville was visiting friends in St. Martinville Thursday. -The Married Ladies Euchre club will be entertained by Mrs. L. V. Simon, Wednesday the 16th inst. - Mr. and Mrs. George Greig of Arnaudville were visiting here this week, stopping at the home of Mr. Louis Greig. -Last week J. B. Daniel, oune of the industrious colored men of Cade, lost forty-tive acres of cane by fire. This is'a considerable loss. -Your poll tax is now due and must be paid before the last day of this month if you want to be qualified to vote at the coming election. -Vote for Jonas if you want to get rid of Foster, one of the most detastable bosses Louisiana has ever produced. Foster is the can didate of the ringsters and Jonas the candidate of the people. -Mayor G. D. Domengeaux of Breaux Bridge was in town huors- I day. Bienyeun will soon open a tire insurance agency, with office at the Bank of St. Martin ville building. SMr. Felix Dantrenil, one of the Soldest citizens of St. Martinville, Sdied at noon Thursday the 10th V inst., at the age of 83 years and B I months. V Mr. Dantreuil had been an in I valid for the last fourteen years. V His funeral took place from the Y Catholic church at 3 o'clock Fri Sday evening. SMr. Dantrenil has lived the life of a good man.
