For sale ba T J Labbe, We have noted sence this sum mer, the large amount of lumber sold from this town, to people from around OGeydan, Boyville, Broussard and the whole of that Coteau section. Every day of the week we can see processions of wagons, ten, fifteen and twenty at one time, leave town all loaded with lumber. We inquired from one party how it was that he came seven miles beyond Royville to get his lumber in St. Martinville, and his reply was that he saved money after making good wages for his men and teams, and got better stocks of lumber to select from. This is quite encouraging to our lumber industry. Fight Will Be Bitter. The sound of the whistle is always mistaken for that of boats whistling for a land ing or for passing the bridge. The whistling Wednesday morning did not awake our people with the hor rors of a fire alarm, they simply thought it was a boat and remain ed in bed until the bell was sound ed. The whistle should be chan ged or fixed in a manner that it would give an alarmn that would be different from the sound of other whistle.
