they were very lumerbus antd

We learn reliably that Messrs. I
R. Martin, W. J. Burke, Dr. (, Co.
Sabatier and Dr. F. R. Martin,
the moving spirits in the do
velopment of the Anse-la-Butto
oil field, have interested and in
duced Mr. Lake Grow, the expert
driller, to move his family to that
field and locate there permanent
ly. This means busiuess,serious
ly, as Mr. Grow is a rman of largo
- experience in oil matters, and is
reputed toI be one of the most snc
cheefnl drillers in this section, and
his moving to this field to locat!
permanently after he has put
aown his first well, which in its
unfinished state is flowing about
300 or 400 barrels of oil per day,
is very encouraging, as it is a sure
sign that this field is a good one,
and with the known persistent
deternioation of the promotors,
and the knowledge (,f the driller,
we can surely expect an early and
complete development of this field,
which has been for many years in
a state of experiment, or specula
tion by the cotmpanies that have
operated there before. The pro
moters of the Anse-l--Buttte Coin
pany have spent a large amount of
money on their holdings there,
afinl it is to be hoped, now, that
they will IM rewarded, with a tie
th'at witl prod0ce oil ahundantly "
