Delralcoirt Benjamin, an old
negro was killed at Cypress Island
iset Friday by his eon-in-law, a -
young negrao named A. JeauLouis.
Benjamin and his sun-in-law had
trouble about a debt and wanted
to leave the plantation of his
father-in-law during the night,
when the killing resulted. The
negro escaped but was arrested the
next day by Sheriff Martin and lie
is now in jail -o answer for the
killing. Benjamin was shot
through the mouth and instantly
killed. The prople of that section
looked upon Benjamin as a mean
nman and the son-in-law as weak
minded.
