Z · · · · 'r . · · · · ZI~ i'UTTING THE BLAME1 ON SOM1EBODY. Ruth Cameron, wlho contributes' short stories to the Times-I)emu crat said recently in her refresh ing style : "If we try hard enough, we can always find someone to blame" when things go wrong. "But wouldn't it be a happier world if, instead of trying hard enough, we cheerfully accepted things as no-1 body's fault, just accidents ?" There is not the least doubt about it. We would all be hap pier and more cheerful, if we could get over the deep-rooted habit of blaming the other fellow. Where the great harm comes, is in the irritation, friction, and un pleasantness, which we bring into our own lives by brooding because certain-plans miscarried through someone's mistake. There is nothing but unhappi ness in brooding and sulking. Blaming some-one when things go wrong puts you out of humor and gives you the blues and does not help at all to remedy anything. Because certain people prefer to deal with strangers over in New York, Chicago and other far away cities, is no reason for those who in supporting home enterprise to lose their temper.
