'I"""""' ""-- """"""" Br Courtesy Rendered By Some People. an Some people expect the newspa per to give them from advertise ment at any and all times of the' year. Sometimes when there is a ha ball somewhere and an account of it is not seen in the home paper w, the poor editor gets a cursing out for it. When entertainments are given in the city and nothing is said about it in the papers, again the newspaper man gets in bad an with the people. There is always Su a tendency to expect lots from the editor, but there is never any in- rie clination to do something for the I employees of the newspaper. A wedding is given and the partici pants are eagerly awaiting the he coming of the paper to see how the paper has exaggerated the beauty of the bride and the char- im actor of the groom, but still the on editor has to do that, though he is never even asked to attend the Bi wedding or is scarcely nodded at wi when crossed on the streets. This is the case with all the newspaper men in the country. The people of the city always expect to get all they can out of the papers and never will try to do a thing in re- rii turn for the good deed done by ul the newspaper people. - Ibervills Sentinel. of of Has Your Child Worms? Pre by I sto. In the profession of journalism, Jt 9 it is perfectly understood that the say paper's usefulness is to be judged Ma largely by the character of the op- anl position to it. Enemies deal in no tI flatteries. If you want to measure the paper accurately, first find out obj who its enemies are and there will oil, probably be no need to ask why the they are its enemies. Their atti- ant tude toward a newspaper tells the sra story as nothing else can of that tits newspaper's attitude in respect to all a its duty to the people.- Leeuville to I Leader. rea ---0-- 9 The farm is not the place for Col vol young people who are averse to me hard work and who expect to reap not as some one else has sown.
