office today and were officially
seated in the congress which be- ,
gan March 4, 1915. I
The new Louisiana senator was I
escorted to the president's chair
in the senate by his colleague,
Senator nausdell. The oath was
adminiatered by Senator Martin
of Virginis, who acted as presi
dent pro tempore by uunuimous
consent. As soon as he had atfix
ed his signature to the coustitu
tiou which he had previously
sworn to uphold Senator Brous
sard took his seat in "Cherokee
strip" in the rear of the Republi
can side of the senate chamber.
