An Ennobling Sight. It was an interesting an enuo bling sight; the litle Confederate flags fluttering from their positions on the low mounds in our Silent City Wednesday. This was Memorial Day: and these small pieces of bunting, em blematic of a cause which will live in brilliant history for ever, were on this now soulful setinels keeping loving vigil over the last sleep of an honored dead. Tender hands placed those flags there. And as the April winds loosened their folds, they seemed to both weep and smile. Weep for the gone evermore, of the once gallant soldier who rests in the narrow couch below Rejoice, because they were permitted to sit guard over the grave of a Confed erate Veteran. All glory to Memorial Day. It is is good, it is noble it is holy that the living should bear honor anb love for thos: gon3 before. Ani that memory, hallowed sen timent, should still be a beautiful living flower, kept in bloom by the tears and sighs of the living. Protracted Seavice s.
