MARRIED. On Tnesda Dec. 4, 1877, by thle Roev. A. G. BAkel, at WoVeyanoke, CAPI'T. i. L. BRAm') to F]RA(xcIS PoYTON, t'irest daughter of M.tL, oloNi T. FATAL SHOOTING. On Wednesday night last, during the I!t formance of Cole's Circus in Bayou 6ara, a difficulty occurred out side the T canvass, betweeon colored man named tl Wesley Glover, and two 'vllite lads, namn- 11 nd respectively, Frank Vresiusky, and It Leopold Rleeche, in which Glover received a pistol shot wound in the head which caused almost instant death. It appears from the combined statements of the M witnesses, as elicited before the Coroner's CI Jury, that the difficulty originated near 1 the circus taint, but that the killing took A place in the street, some hundred feet or CI more from the locality where the quarrel biegan. I Young Vresinsky and Reeche were inl mediately arrested and turned over to Sheriff Barrow, and were promptly con fined in the parish jail. Coroner Ball summoned a jury of in- d quest who investigated the matter on Thursday morning. The jury was com posed *as follows: J. S. Wooster, R. IT. Hlaile, Jr., Robert Phillips, Henry An derson [c] Nelson Stephens [c], who af ter a thorough examination of the wit nesses found a verdict as follows: "We the jurors find that the deceased came to a his death from a bullet'throlgh the head. from a pistol discharged by the hand of Frank Vresinsky, now in custody.?' Upon this finuding, young Reecho was discharged from custody, and Vresinsky is held to answer the awful charge. II The weapon exhibited before the Jury Ct of Inquest as the one supposed to have fc been used in thae bloody tragedy, is a di- nl minutive cartridge derringer, carrying a In cartridge of the smallest size made, cali- 0 bre '22. and looks like a toy, rather tl'nu 0 an instrument of death. The young boy Vresiusky who is eharg= 1 ed with the commission of this awful crime is quite a youth, not being, it is said, over 14 years of age. A knife, which may be properly de. scritbed as a small sized kitchen knife, was discovered lying near the body of the deceased when removed, and is sup posed tollhave belonged to him. As tile charge against young Vresinsky ti will be investigated before the proper b tribun)al, when all the facts connected pr therewith will be elicited, we refrain % fiomlll makillg any comment, save to point .t to the awful .oulmnentary afforded by , this sad oceurrenlce, upon the prevailing customn of permaittiang the ca.rrying of concealed weapons, in violation of the law, anld more particularly by children. And here we will teke occasion to di rect particular attention to the timely cnotice, Ito, be foimnd ill another collln'll. of Mr. C'has. Cole's iianunolth combination gave two exhilbitions, ac- a cordilng to allnollcllolllellt, on Wednesday c last, 19th inst. The weather was propi- ( tionus, and the attendance good at bthi h enltertaiumlellts. The audience at the evellilng iperTormanalce was particularly large and seemed to appreciate the rich futlnd of amusement spread before thenm aby the mailageumnt. The performancea was exceptlolally good. Inleed it is rarely the case that circuses of the pres cut day, are provided with artists pos sessing the merits, in all the varied do partments of the profession, as are those I employed by Mr. Cole. Two of the best riders who have ever appeared before a lBayou Sara audiicue, from the dlays of Spalding & Rogers up to the present time, Messrs. Gardner and Odell, together with the agile and daring Melle a Claire, whose fuats Iupon the swinigilg rings, 30 feet above tile grond, cllallaeg ed the applause and admirationl of the assembinage, were promiaeit anmong tIle many excellent performers who combined to render the occa:sion one of enjoyable amnsement. The clowns too, proved to Le the right moll in the right place, and succeed in impaurting that spice to the en t.rtainmenc t that gives to the circus its peculiar aind characteristio charm. Too much can ano; be said in commendation of the orderly and s8 stematic manner in which the performauces were conduc ted, Land tile polite and corteous demeanu or of all connucted with the establish Iment. To Mr. Levius, Trcasurer, anld Mr. J. V. Strelig, Agenut, we are under special - obligatiollns for courtesies exteundled us. - "GERMAN SYRIUP." It oblvi ates all friction itt the eflds of the cotton box, prevents the roll from breaking, and gives a larger yield of lint from thi same amount of seed than anly other ge.: in use. The Revolving Head lightens - the draft and causes the Gin to run faster with less driving power, thus doing a great deal more work within the saul; time while economizing steam or animn:; po., er than any other Gin. The seed ,e. ing ginned very close, the length of the staple is increased producing cotton on this ccounllt of a greater market value This improved value, given by length of staple, wi ll extra production oflint addh 41 to increased amojint of work done, mloret than covers the cost of the Ginin every 100 bales ginned.
