By Mr. Burnett : Resolved, That at
the election, to be held on the second
day of December next, 1879, a commis
sioner of election be allowed to each of
the three parties now 'liefore the people
of this parish, to-wit: One commission
er to the Demoertice party, one to the
Republican party and one to the Inde
pendents.
Mr. Graham moved to lay the above
resolution oni the table. '
Ayes-Messrs. Carmena, Montegudo,
Millican, Nesbit and Graham-5.
Nays-Messrs. Perron, Fisher, Burnett
and Roberts-4.
The resolution was therefore laid on
the table.
The Jury then took a recess of fifteen
minutes.
Onre-assembling all the members were
present.
Mr. Graham presented a list of com
missioners and clerks of the election to
be held on the 2d day of December, 1879.
Mr. Roberts moved to lay the motion
on the table, and a division being called,
five members voted for and five vo
ted against the resolution.
Mr. Roberts appealed to the jury as to
the Fight of Mr. Gardere to vote ans
member from the 8th Ward (..~be ug
President of the Jury.)
The vote being called, resulted ns fol
lows:
To sustain the President--Messrs. Car
mena, Montegndo, Millicah, Nesbit, Gra
ham.
Versus-Messrs. Perr ,n, Fisher, Bi.r-.
nett and Roberts.
The Chairman was therefore sustained.
Mr. Graham then proposed the nannes
of Messrs. Hy. Reinken, O. P. Skol:ichl
and Charles Pages as Conmnissioners for
the First Ward with Mr. M. Granary tps
Clerk.
Mr. Robefts moved to lay on-the table.
Ayes-Messrs. Perron, 'Fisher, Milli
can, Barnett, Robettes-5.
Nays-Messrs. Carmena, Montegado,
Nenbit, Gralnun,i Gardere-5.
No decision.
Mr. Perron moved to change names of
Commissioners for the First Ward as
follows: Messrs. O. P. Skolfieldl, T. 8.
Brady and B Barauco.
