thiroug her Custom House of as
many as eighteen vestsels, fifteen
of which were steamers destined
for countries across the Atlantic.

country in a single day.
The list of vessels cleared yes

bark and 2 schooners. Their
aggregate cargoes undoubtedly
made up the largest day's busi
ness the port of New Orleans
has ever known. These cargoes
consisted in part of Cotton, 85,
540 square bales and 3,700 round
bales; wheat, 422,000 bushels;
corn, 61,188 bushels; rosin, 675
barrels; turpentine, 1700 barrels;
flour, 39,160 sacks; molasses,
6,150 barrels; oak staves, 338,718
pieces; lumber, 16,222 feet; oil
cake, 3,327 sacks, cotton seed
meal, 16,243 sacks; timber,85,791
pieces, and cotton seed oil, 1,000
