having neither wood nor coal to
run with. It looks prety bad
this country can afford no kind
of fuel, especially this time of
the year.
Robt. Davis of Gueydan and'
sister Maud of Summerville,-La.
were visiting on Klondike Sun
day the guest of R. M. Walker
and family. Mr. Davis returned
home Sunday evening but Miss
Maud will spend a few days in
our busy little community, Miss
Rebecca Walker expects to ac
company her when she returns.
From all accounts we suppose
turkeys stood no show at all
Thanksgiving you could see one
on most anybody's table. And
by the way, we saw another one:
being carried to the home of our
most propinent citizens, and
"they say" it; to celebrate his
birthday. But, if actions and
appearances amount to anything
there will be something grauder
than the fathers birthday to be
celebrated by a turkey feast.
But it is nice to have the two in
connection. Am sure they have
our best wisheh in advance.
