SUCCESSFULLY TREATED BY INHALATION OF
MEDICATED VAPORS, BY
JOiNSON STEWART ROSE. Fellow of the l1oyal
College of Physiolan sad for years, senior Phy
sician In the London Royal Inflrmary for the disea
see of the lings.
In this age -f progress. medical soionee has aon
trilbuted her full share to the general welfare, and
that which shines resplendent, the brightest Jewel in
her diadem, is Medicated Vapor Inhalation, in she
treatment of consumption and kindred Mietlions;
the treatment heretofore pursued bas been kulty
and wofully inefficient; the stomach being made the
receptacle of nauseous compounds, oils, dd asloat
of other nostrumss; all these being expected to aot
upon the lungst tihe failure to eradicate. or even to
stop the ravages of the disease, In nearly every ease
of well developed consumption, is surely warning
enough to the consumptive toshun such a treatment.
The disease is not in the stomahob, but in the Luang I
common sense will then at once teach you that med
icine applied In the form of Vapor directly to the
diseased surface of the lungs. will be far more ef.
fectual in removing the disease than medicine taken
into the stomach. In treating diseases of the luhangs.
the success of the Modicated Vapor Inhalation ex
ceeds my most sanguine expectations, and I earnest
ly appeal to the intelligence of all afflicted, or who
may have the germs of the disease within them, to
emlirace at once the soothing, healing and successlul
systeum of Medicated Vapor Inhalation. as the only
Ark of Refuge for the consumptive. I offer to put
it within the reach of all, and can so arrange it that
tihe invalid is never required to leave home, where
the hand of friendship and affection tends so mclh
to aid the physician's elorts. Where there is life
there is now assured hope for the most seemingly
hopeless eases, as throughout all the'stages of this
Insidious disease, the wonderful and beneficial effects
of this treatment are soon apparent. In cases of
Blronchitls, Asthmn. &c.. the inhaling ofpowders and
vapors has bwen eminently sucecesful, and tu those
sufliring nlndler any of the above mentioned com
ulaints. I can guarantee certain and speedy relief. I
avre plcasure in reflirring to 207 names, residents of
New York and neighlecrhood. who have hcen resro
red to vigorous health. About one tlhird of the
above mentioned, nee',rding to the patient's own
statemenets. were considered hopeless cases.
The inhialution method is soothing, safe and spee
4y. and consists in the ndministration of medicine in
uclh amallner that they are conveyed in the form of
vaipor and prodluce thjeirction at the seat of disease.
Its practical success is dlestined to revolutionize the
ropinieon of the mediecl world. and to estidblich the
cntire ecralility of cronsumption.
Applicants will please state if they have ever bled
from the luings, if they have lost fiesh.have a colgh.
