Tho wounded were cared for and placed
in cars. Passengers say they were heaped
1c n horrid mass, and that tho icenc fol
lowing was horrid In tho extreme. The
wounded passengers joined with the citi
zens from tho surrounding country and
officers of tho train in tho work of extract-

The killed were John J. Brock, of
Sparta, uud Harrison Juleon, the colored
porter of tho train. Roth were badly
mutilated.
The mail agent was wounded, but not
badly.
Tho train took the wounded, as soon as
pottlblo to Covington, arriving there at
0:30 in the evening.

not explained.
