Cincinnati, April 30. Thlt lint been
n day of icnrcely lest excitement than it
promlicd ,for to-morrow, but one not
without id potltlvc results. Moro people
have arrived to-day than have been in the
city before, and each day addt to tho anx
iety and excitements that arc tnatilfettfd
on every hand.
who iiavk iir.roKTiu thejisklyis.
To-night, It la ascertained that there arc
uelerjalea from every t'.ate In tho Union
tlioM! from California iind Oregon being
the lait to como In. I do not know what
you hear in til. Louis, but the outlook here
It very cheering.
Such a convention, embracing so man;
4protninent men in both parties, wat never
before; seen. It it tafc to say that tho braitii
of the entire republican liarty are here,
and at least one-half of tho I rally influ
ential democratic leadert arenlso on hand.
MOT rKIUKCT ll.UtMOXV.
There it of course a good deal of diver
sity of opinion, but really no lack ot liar
inonv. Thcro hn boon u uV'Piratt' effort
on the part of thu correspondents of somi! j
(irant paper to write up n ijuarrcl, but i
llieir enortt aro lauguea ai iiero at absurd
and having no foundation in fact. Natu
rally men tlWagrei', and there are sorno hot
contest', but all It in perfect good nature.
tiik isv.vr.xuK plank.
Thorn is gool authority for saying that
at a late hour to-night nosatifetory con
clusion has Wn reached in relation "to the
revenue plank in tho platform of the lib
eral republican!, and it was tuid by thoso
deeply interested in a satisfactory settle,
inentof tliediffercncetoti this question that
there appeared but one gleam of hope, and
this wat found in thu assertion that Judge
Stallo did not represent the sentiments of
tho (iermani on that subj.-ct. The trouble
appears to bo from tho supposed position
of the (icrmans in relation to the revenue
reform.
IOV. lmows's fcTP.EN'ATII.
Cov. llrown has, In addition o .Missouri,
Oregon, California, Arkansas, New Harnp
shlro, a part of Texas, and a part of the
Kentucky, South Carolina and (Jeorgia
delegation'.
MVIDKH.
The Iowa, Ktns, Louisiana and Ne
braska delegations are divided, but gen
erally for Trumbull.
THE KAKAM DELEGATION
Had a caucus in which tho following voted
were cast: Trumbull 20, Adams C, llrown
5, Davis 4 and Orcelcy 2. There were,
however, only about one-hall of the dele
gation present at the meeting.
rKS.NfYI.TAMA.
Pennsylvania it for Andrew (5. Curtln,
the present minister to Kusia, but the
e will bo merely complimentary, and
Xn opportunity will bo toticht to cast a
tote lor Greeley.
siw VOKK
It lolld for Greeley, and tho North Caro
lina delegation hat a preference for the
same gentleman. -
ADAM'.
Adams has great strength, but it docs
not lie in any special location, except Now
England. New Jersey Is for him, and bo
hat r.umcroui friends in New York, Penn
sylvania und southern delegations. Tho
two Virginians arc reported to favor
Greeley.
THE INDIANA DELEOATION
had a meeting at which it was proposed
to take the sense of tho members tn the
presidential question, but the proposition
wat withdrawn. Adams It the lirst choice
of delegates from tho eastern part of tho
state, and Trumbull the second. Though
it it probable Indiana will bo voted sol
idly lor Davis on the first ballot. Nine out
often dulegalcs from Minnesota arc for
Trumbull.
TILTON
made an eloquent speech to-day before tho
New York delegation In favor of Greeley
for Dretidont and Brown for vice-presi
dent. Ho wat particularly complimentary
to IJrown.
THE MAHYLANI,DELEOATE
Are divided between Adams, Davit and
Greeley, but have taken no ballot.
THE ILLINOIS DELEGATION
Hat been in a somewhat inharmonious
condition until thlt evening, when n com-
promita was proposed by which Davit
wat to have, half the delegates and Trum
bull and Palmer the other half, and an
adjournment took place to-night, when the
delegation again assemble! und thlt ar
rangement wat completed. It wat also
proposed that a State central committee bo
T elected from tho meeting, two from each
congressional district and two from the
State at large. John Wentworth mado it
lengthy speech urging tho postponement
ol thlt, taytng that they had to go homo
to a pretty largo constituency, nnd would
havo to call on tho aid of sympathizers in
tho movement irrespective ol party lines.
Inthit viow tho meeting concurred, and
Uim motion to appoint tho committee whs
withdrawn.
