this to bu situation. The Democratic parly
of this district is united. Thoru Is no
division in Its ranks ; and, although a
number of Democrats lollcvo tho nomina

circumstances, they do not Intend to vote

COLOHED MOll MEN.
A colored man who dares to advocate
tho claims of Horace Greeley to tho presi

tho colored Hadicals have become rowdies
nnd mob mou.
In North Carolina every negro who
opened his mouth for Greeley was
mobbed by negroes; in Commerce, Mis
souri, a Greeley negro, the 'Dispatch' of
that place informs us, was compelled to
tako a solemn oath that he would
voto for Grant, and other Greeloy
negroes were roughly treated; in Rich
mond, Indiana, last week, u colored man
made a Greeley speech and was given till
G o'clock to leave the town. Othor in

Grant men might be given. They aro as
numerous as blackberries. An intelligent
colorod man of Cincinnati, says he is con
vinced, by the letter of Mr. Sumner, that
the truo policy of his race Is to vote for
Greeley and Drown ; but, says he, " I dare
not to do it ; if I did so, I should bo murd
'orod by my own color."
In Cairo, bore, tho same spirit prevails,
and in tho colorod Grant and "Wilson
club threats have been made against the
Kev. T.J. Shores.
If the colored mou believe they are go
ing to make, any thing by this kind of in
tolerance tlioy are mistaken. Tho Liber-
