COBBBTT Editor and Publisher OFFICIAL COUNTY PAPER OFFICIAL CITY PAPER HIGH SCHOOL NOTES The H. S. Foot Ball Team is preparing for the battle which will take place Saturday p. m. Oct. 26th. When our boys went to Minot they were defeated but not con quered and next Saturday they in tend to show Minot what they can do. Saturday evening the H. S. pu pils will give a reception and ban quet in honor of the Minot H. S. representatives. However the game turns out we intend to make them want to come again. Last Friday afternoon the H. S. Literary society had a meeting and a very interesting program was rendered. The Seventh grade gave their teacher a fruit shower Friday the 18th. The H. S. will miss Misss Anna Perkins who has gone back to Minnesota. Show your patriotism for your city and your school by coming to the Foot Ball Game Saturday af ternoon. The second division of the Lit •ery society gave an interesting program last Friday. The next meeting will be held Friday Nov. 1st. Last Friday the H. S. Boys played a game of football with a picked up team of young men about town. The score was 5 to 1 in favor of the H. S. The boys feel grateful for the young men's Assistance as their chief draw back |HE People of Williston and Vicinity appreciate what The Boston Store is doing- for them. Kills Qirl Who Refuses to Marry Him And Commit*. Suicide. New York, Sept. 20 —Because she had persistently refused to marry him Henry Fischnee a baker,, shot and instantly killed! Miss Johanna Hoffman Thursday and fatally wound ed himself. The shooting took place in the presence of several persons In a bakery and lunch room in Tenth avenue, of which Miss Hoffman'* uncle is the proprietor. When the girl fell and several men rushed at him, Fischner shot himself in the head, in flicting a wound, from which he died in hospital. Elizabeth Holmes Found Insane,. New Ybrk, Sept. 20.—Mrs. Elizabeth M. Holmes, who was ejected from the White House in January, 1906, after a series of attempts- to Interview the president, was adjudged insane Thurs day by a sheriff's jury impaneled in Brooklyn by tile lunacy commission. The proceedings were begun by her husband, William M. Holmes, who had previously committed her to several institutions for the mentally defective, from one of which she escaped just before her visit to Washington. Rich Laborer Gives Estate to Poor. Warsaw, Ind., Sept. 20.—The will of John Geater, a supposedly poverty stricken laborer who died four years ago. was found Thursday. The en tire estate, which is large and con sists principally of coal fields about 100 miles east of Pittsburg, is devised to the poor. The fields are under lease to the Pennsylvania Railroad company, it is said. The exact value of the estate has not been determined. CORNER OF MAIN AND FIR5T STREETS.
