'V*W':i A patient by the name of Hanson was brought to Crosby the latter part of last week from Westby by Dr. Nor ris and placed in the Crosby hospital. Thursday morning he attempted sui cide with a ,22 calibre revolver. The bullet entered his ear and part of it came out the top of his head and an X-ray examination showed that a por tion of the bullet was still lodged in the brain. The attending physicians entertain but slight hope for recovery. Inquiry as to the cause of the serious act revealed no clue. Teachers' Examination. The next regular teachers' examina tion for first and second grade elemen tary certificates will be held at the courthouse in Minot on Thursday and Friday, May 11th and 12th. Work will begin promptly at 8:30 Thursday morning. Second grade subjects will be offered all day Thursday and Fri day forenoon first grade subjects, Friday afternoon. Persons who expect to qualify for teaching fall terms in Ward County, should take this examination. No per mits will be issued. All materials will be furnished. W. D. WENDT, County Superintendent. The formal charge of murder was lodged against John Miller, as the re sult of the death in a Jamestown hos pital of Valentine Hens of Medina, the result of a Christmas day shooting tragedy. Christmas day Miller visit ed at the Hens home, and became in volved in an argument with Fred Hens and his son. The young man first was shot down, then the father, rushing to his aid, and Mrs. Hens.
