SHORB BACK FROM CIVIC CONFERENCE Surrey Young Man Represented State University in Successful Meeting inf Eastern Cities, From a recent issue of the Student, the North Dakota University publi cation, we clip the following article which concerns a Surrey young man, Paul E. Shorb, son of Mr. and Mrs. D. M. Shorb, who was honored by being selected to represent the University in the annual meeting of the intercolleg iate Civic League: "Axel T. Aronson and Paul E. Shorb, the delegates of the .University Civics Club to the Intercollegiate Civ ic League meeting have but recently returned from the two-day meeting of that League which was held on April 29th in Washington, D. C. The North Dakota delegates report a most inter esting and valuable trip to the nat ional meeting. The trip also included sight-seeing in the larger cities of the east. Chicago, Niagara Falls, New York, Washington, D. C., Mt. Vernon and Baltimore were visited by the del egates. "The delegates left here immediate ly after vacation, visiting in Chicago a few days before they went on east. In Chicago several old U. N. D. stu dents were visited,, among them being Andy Carr and Cyril Glaspel, Fred Brockoff, Alfred Johnson, Joseph Koucky and James Thompson. From Chicago, the fellows went to Niagara Falls by way of Detroit. Thence to Buffalo and on to New York, arriving there on Wednesday morning. The time from .then until the meeting on Friday was spent in sightseeing and visiting. The Chamber of Commerce, Ft. Ellis Island, and the National Art Museum were among the points of in terest visited by the N. D. boys. "Friday the intercollegiate meeting started. The session was opened by a reception and luncheon at the Faculty Club of Columbia University. Prof. Beard of Columbia presided at this luncheon. Immediately after luncheon the reports of the various members were given. About twenty universi ties were represented at the meeting. The attendance this year was smaller than usual because of late changes in the administration of the Intercolleg iate association. Mr. Shorb made the report of the North Dakota University Club."
