MAY ISSUE SEED BONDS Pure Seed Commission and Bankers' Association are Co-operating in Making Arrangements Bismarck, N. D., Nov 27.—With the co-operation of the pure seed com mission, the North Dakota Banker's mission, the North Dakota State Bankers' association and Commission er of Agriculture and Labor llagan, counties which find themselves in need of seed grain will be cncouraged to issue seed bonds or warrants thru their county commissioners, where this course is found necessary. "The seed commission stands ready to assist in the selection of seed and in finding where it can be bought," saic! Commissioner John N. Hagan to day. "The commission finds after making a careful survey that a short age of barley, oats, flax and corn seed exists, and it recommends that farm ers having any of these grains retain them for seed purposes, and that farmers having supplies in excess of their own needs notify the commis sioner of agriculture or the agricul tural college. "The farmer probably will realize a somewhat higher price for this seed grain than he would get in the open market, and the buyer will be saved transportation charges two ways and probably a commission or two. It is certain there will not be sufficient seed grain in the state in any event. We will be compelled to go out of the state for much of it, but every bushel that can be bought inside the state will mean a saving in money and a greater certainty of crop." TRAP JAP SWINDLER WHO WORKED MINOT Balfour, N. D., Nov. 28.—The Jap who swindled a number of Minot mer chants by issuing worthless checks, has been arrested here. Charles Sathers and Art De Gross "have been arrested on the charge of chicken-stealing. They are charged with taking about thirty-six chickens from the poultry yard of Henry Sea bury. The bail bond of Leo Montgomery, who was convicted on a charge of bas tardy at a previous term of court and failed to appear for sentence, has been forfeited and the bondsmen will have to pay the amount of the bonds into court.
