ir ft 4 fitf 'i PETITIONS NOW OUT TO RE CALL THREE MAKE 7 LAWS Throughout North Dakota this week petitions are being: circulated for in itiated laws and asking for an election in which it is proposed to recall the jjovernor, attorney general and com missioner of agriculture and labor. "Hie petitions now in circulation take the place of similar ones circulated earlier in the year at a time that it was proposed to have another battle of ballots early this summer. One of the initiated laws deals with the amount of bonded indebtedness that may 'be incurred. It provides for a limit of two and a half millions for the mill and elevator association a quarter million for home building and not to exceed five millions to pay the debts of the Bank of North Dakota to counties, schools and cities having money now "frozen" at Bismarck. Another initiated law provides for the election of state officers without regard to political affiliations. A third proposed law provides for separate party ballots in primary elections and for a one-column ballot at general elections. The fourth proposed law deals with providing public depositories. It makes banks, under certain condi tions, eligible as depositories and provides how official boards shall de posit public moneys. Another proposed law Is to change the make-up of the industrial com mission to contain the secretary of state, treasurer and commissioner of agriculture, to serve until the next .legislature when the governor will name the three members of the com mission, to be approved then by the senate. In another law it is proposed to es tablish a rural credits law that will permit loaning of money to farmers on easy terms and at low interest, the money to be obtained from the sale of bonds. The seventh proposed law is an act for the dissolution of the Bank of North Dakota. T. M. WILLIAMS RE ELECTED GRANGE MASTER Berthold, N. D., June 16. Resolutions indorsing the Farm Bureau work, the Wheat Growers as sociation marketing plan, better aid for consolidated schools, favored a reduction in freight .rates and some resolutions pertaining to the grange work. The newly and re-elected officers were installed in the evening. The next meeting for 1922 is Plaza.
