With its issue of Saturday, July 6, the Marion Mirror inaugurated a mammoth popular voting contest which for elaborateness of idea, general scope
and liberality of prizes offered knows no precedent in the annals of journalisrii'olutside the big metropolitan centers. It is a competitive contest and offers

Any lady who Is a resident
of Marion county or any adjacent
county Is ellglblo to compete.
Ulead over that section of the ad
vertisement relativo to the division
of districts, determine which dis
trict you are in,- and write your
name with the number of tle dis
trict you are in on tho nomination
blank printed on another page of
this paper and send or bring to
this office. Persons living in any
ono district aro not confined to
voting for candidates in that par
ticular district; thoy may voto for
any candidate in any district. Tor
tho purpose of voting either the
single ballot clipped from tho papir
may bo used or tho special ballon
secured with subscription payments
may bo used. Ladies who
wish t necui'd prizes should begin
a systematic canvass of thulr
friends for subscriptions at once.

the Field of the Hirror Has Been
Divided Into Seven Districts
as Follows:
District 1 All of tho first ward and territory bounded on
the south by East Center street and Caledonia Pike; on tho west by
North Main street and Bucyrus Pike; on tho north by tho township
line and on tho east by tho township lino.
District 2 All of second ward and territory bounded on the
south by West Center street and Kenton Plko; on tho east by north
Main street and Bucyrus plko; on the west by township line, and on
tho north by township lino
District 3 'All Third Ward and territory bounded on tho north by
West Oentor street and Kenton Pike; on tho east by south .Main
street and Delawuro Avtnuo and Delaware pike; on tho south by
township lino, and on tho west by township lino.
District 4 All of fouith ward and territory bounded on the north
by east Center street and Caledonia Pike; on the west by south Main
slreot and Delaware Avcnuo and Dela,waro Plko; on tho south by
township line, and on tho east by township lino
District 5 Comprises all of Greon Camp, Prospect, Pleasant,
and Waldo townships and Delaware and Union countlos.
District 0 Comprises all of Bowling Green, Montgomery, Grand,
Big Island and Salt Hock townships and Hardin and Wyandot coun
ties. ,'
District 7 Comprises all of Grand Pralrlo, Scotft, Tnlly, Olari
don and Richland townships and Crawford and Morrow counties.

regardless of district limitations.

There aro two ways of vot
ing. Ono Is to clip tho ninglo ballot
from tho issueo of tho Marion Mir
ror and voto it with tho namo of
tho candidal and her district writ
ten thereon. Tor tho first weok
of the contest theso ninglo ballots
will count for ten votes each, but
after the first week they will dnly
count for one vote each. These sin
gle ballots aro only good for one
week. Tho Special Ballots are in
tho nhapo of certificates issued for
subscription payment made. The
number of votes given on each spe
cial ballot Is In proportion to the
length of the subscription and is
computed from the following table:

Rules and Conditions
Any' lady resident of Ma

may becomo a caudidato
Tho voting will bo by Binglo bal
lots clipped from tho Mirror and
by special ballots issued for sub
scription payments to tho Mirror
from either old or new subscribers
according to tho accompanying
cchedulo of votes.
No certificates will bo issued for
a less payment than oiro dollar.
Combinations between any candi
dates is prohibited.
Tho Mirror reserves tho right to
reject any caudidato and also to
pass final judgment upon any
question that may oriso.
Votes onco cast cannot bo chang
ed to count for another candidate.
A candidate cannot withdraw
from ono district and enter an
other and retain tho votes to her
credit in tho tonncr district.
. No employes of tho Mirror nor
membor of his or her immediate
family may becomo a candidate
Tho balloting began Saturday,
July 0 1907 and will close Satur
day evening, August 24, 1007.
