Boston, Mass., Sept. 27. Increase in
activity in the local wool market con
tinues, several large lots of territory
being sold at GO cents, secured basis.
The demand runs through nearly all
lines, although fleece wools are still
rather dull. New export demand is
also enlarging, while the mills are said
to be taking greater interest in the
market original Idaho being sold at
20023 cents and Utah 1719 cents.
Pulled wool dull, but foreign product
still in demand.

leaders to name senator Elihu Root

Sherman Asks Investlgailon.
At the meeting of the Republican
state committee, chairman AVoodruff
read a letter from vlcepresident Sher
man asking for an investigation by tbe
committee in charge that his selection
for temporary chairman of the state
convention was brought about through
trickery, and stating that if such
charges were substanitated he would
not care to serve.

By a vote of 22 to 15, the committee
at a special meeting last night reaf
firmed its selection of vice president
Sherman over Theodore Roosevelt as
temporary chairman of the state con
vention. Roosevelt refused to comment on the
action of the state committee beyond
saying that he had not meant making
his fight in the committee.

The grand jury- Tuesday returned, an
indictment aainst Afar Lun Jung,
charging him wtih the murder of 3Ion
Toon, the proprietor of a Chinese res
taurant on Xorth Stanton street. Mon
Toon was found dead early one morn
ing, and tie investigations of the police
Jed to the arrest of Mar Lun Jung.
Judge Harper reduced his bond to $3000.
One other indictment was returned, by
the grand jury at its Tuesday session.
