A COURT TRIAL
Man Is Acquitted of Charge
' of Receiving Stolen
J. J. Knapp, charged with receiving:
and concealing; stolen property, was
acquitted Tuesday on an instructed
verdict by a "jury in the 34th 'district
court. Knapp was arrested following
the burglary of the house' of Mrs. O.
H. Scott, 710 San Antonio street- Mrs.
Scott alleges she lost SS6. Mrs. A. X.. J
Yost and Mrs. Grace Soper were ar
rested in connection with the robbery,
and later Knapp was arrested.
Mrs. Scott reported to The Herald
today that $70.20 of her missing: money
had been returned to her. Detective
Stansel confirmed the recovery of tha
The detective said Knapp gave up
the money when arrested, but claimed
at the time that he did, not know
It was stolen. Mrs. Soper, who is ut
on $500 bond, did not appear as a wit
ness against Knapp.

ty commissioners today fixed January
