Snacks in Tacoma
Old shacks may no longer be
repaired and tinkered up with,
paint and plaster in the business
district of the city. The council
this morning passed an ordinance
rohibiting the repairing of old .
shacks in the fire limits unless
fireproof material Is used.
The Westlin foundry will erect
a big derrick capable of lifting
the heaviest kind of machinery
from boats on the city's property -
near the 11th street bridge across
the city waterway. Tho city will
be paid $25 a month rent for the
site for the derrick and the pub
lic will be permitted to use the
derrick by payment.
