MUST BE IN BY FIRST OF MONTH Board Will Sit As Board of Equaliza tion on August Ist to Equalize 1903 Tax Rolls. Business men and others who have monthly hills against the county have in the past been so dilatory' about fil ing them that the board of commis sioners this morning adopted a rule that hereafter monthly bills not filed the first of each month with the audi tor will not be considered at all. The rule was made necessary by the fact that several hills contracted a year ago were not presented for payment until recently. Two bills contracted by the old board showed up this morning for payment. The practice is so annoying and un businesslike that the only remedy the commissioners could suggest was to not. consider at all bills filed after the usual time for presentation. The board today is auditing bills filed against the county for last month. It was decided upon today that the full hoard would sit as a board of equali zation commencing August Ist to equalize 1903 tax rolls, which are be ing extended by Assessor Berryman anid a force of deputies. The work will be completed within three weeks and the rolls turned over to Treasurer Hawley. LOCAL EVENTS. J. I). Barnes has returned from a trip to the Sound.
