—County Commissioner Rupley and
wife returned yesterday from their
visit to Portland.
—Mr. and Mrs. Geo. E. Ritchey
returned today from their trip to
Portland and the Sound country.
—L. B. Miller, J. W. Mathews and
Neil Stewart will remain at Portland
for some days yet taking in the fair.
—Homer Mathews went to Portland
Thursday, where he will join his
father and put in a week at the fair.
—Miss Alice Roberts, professional
nurse, returned Saturday from Endi
cott, where she was called to nurse a
patient.
—The macadamizing of Wawawai
street to connect with the similar
work done by the county west of town
has been completed.
- Last Monday was the anniversary
of the birth of Mrs. Wm. Irwin, and
some twenty of her Pullman friends
drove out to her country home, tak
ing with them a sufficient supply of ice
cream to overcome the weather con
ditions, and passed a day long to be
remembered, for Mrs. Irwin is a host
ess whose hospitality all are glad to
accept.

the Superior Court of the State of
Washington, in and for Whitman

of the first publication of this sum

Within 60 days after the 15th day of
July, 1905, and defend the above en
titleed action in the above entitled
Court and answer the complaint of the
plaintiff in said action and serve a copy
of your answer on H. J. Welty, the
undersigned attorney for plaintiff, at
his office in Pullman, in the Coutny of
Whitman, State of Washington, and
if you fail to appear and defend said
action and answer the complaint of the
plaintiff aforesaid, within the time
aforesaid, judgment will be rendered
against you according to the demand
of the said complaint which has been
filed with the Clerk of said Court.
