weekly meetings of the Ladies So'

Wednesda of each week, at 10 o'clock A.

CuitfSTMAs.—Christmas is over, and may
ho set down as one of the days of the past, la
with pleasant reminiscences Th night
uf the 24t was just cold enough to freeze the
earth .slightly, and make the walking good.
GKirly in the day however, old Sol put on
bus most brilliant robe and soon coaxed the
I'roat out of th ground to such an extent
that the walking was considerably damaged.
Nevertheless presents enough to load down
large Christmas Trees' found their
way to the E. Church, which was filled
40 overflowing in the evening, and after wit
nessing and listening to some choice exer
cises by the Sunday School, the presents
were distributed. he pleasure o( the oc
casion was slightly marred by the discovery
that there were a lew for whom no presents
had been provided. This, however, occur
re by reason of the absence of one or two
teachers, and is been amply remedied.—
Altogether it was a baaucdui day, and u'as
enjoyed more fully and perfectly than is usua1
.in this place. There were, in various sec
tions of the town, piivate Christmas Trees
that u'iu honor to the generous parents who
got thain up for the graiilicatiun of their
id re: Fo .some reason the
post their celebration until
evening, when they erected their
Tree at the Court House. Th
beautiful, beautifully decorat
