In ease of the neglect or refusal of any person within seid city of Red Wing to pay the City Foil Tax heretofore levied, or whieh may hereafter be levied by said City Council under section 1 of chapter 6, of said City Charter, within forty eight hours after a demand thereof by the City Marshall, it shall he and is hereby made the duty of said Mar shall to make complaint in writing, setting forth such demand and each neglect or refusal: to pay said Poll Tax, verified by his oath to a Justice of the Peace of said city, and upon such complaint being mads, it is hereby made the duty of said Justice immediately to issue his warrant in the name of the City ef Red Wing directed to the eity Marshall, or any Constable of said eity. commanding him forthwith to bring before him'(said Justice) said person complained against aa aforesaid to answer said complaint. 8xo. 3 If on hearing said complaint, said Justice shall be satisfied that said Poll Tax has been demanded of such person, (so brought before him,) forty eight hoars before the mak ing of said core plaint, end that he h«s foiled or refused to pay said Poll Tax assessed againat him as aforesaid, eaid]person shall, be adjudged to pay a fine of one dollar, together with the costs of suit.
