Brokemeyer is erecting a lar^e building on Redwood Street, whTch will, when finished, be occupied as a general store. The Republicans up this way would be much pleased to become acquainted with Mr. Waid, the nominee for Sena tor. A politic il meeting was held in Gamble's Hall on Wednesday in which the democratic portion of the village populace showed up niceh. Speeches were made b\ Mr. f. E. Bowen of Slee py Eye, Mr. E. G. Pahl of New Ulm, and Mr. M. G. Robertson and Mr. J. J. Ray of this place. A new building is in process of er ection on the south side of Redwood street which will be used by Mr. Ben-is dixen for a warehouse. The people of this village and vicinity are much pleased to learn that Rer. Chester will remain as pa&tor of the M. E. church during the coming year. Mrs. W. H. Torrev, one of Mulli gan's enterprising farmers, was in town Monday. An effort is being made to organ ize a Literary Society here. This should be done and sufficient interest should be taken in it to make it successful dur ing the entire winter. On closely examining a light-weight silver dollar, presented at the sub-trea sury iu Boston the other day, a piece of"handiwork of high order was discov ered.
