Tolstov's life and work was oiip of
the subjects at the last regular meeting
of the Current Event-. Club. It wai
discussed by Miss Cleva Cole, who class
ed him as one of the three greatest of
living men. She asserted that his great
est fame was not because of his literary
work but leeause of his work among
the Russian peasants.
The men Miss Cole ranks with Tol
stoi are Bernard Shaw and Henrik Ib
sen. This club was organized early in No
vember to study topics of the day. The
memlxwdiip was limited to eighteen and
there are now fourteen memliers. The
only qualifications are good class stand
ing and a willingness to work diligently
on the assignments of the club.

The club has five divisions: foreign
politic, home politics, science, religion,
and literature including art and the

political questions of the day are, Miss
Ella Moulton. Miss Elenora Ren7, Miss
Elsie Resor, Miss Irene Scrutshlield.
Those in the scientific division are Mis
Daisy Young, Miss Elva Moore, Miss
Louise Stanley. On religion are, Miss
Mary Ford, Miss Laura, Gentry, and
Miss Cleva Cole. In the literarv di
vision are. Miss Alice Burnhani, Miss
Edith Oeery, Miss Jessie Newman, and
Miss Myrtle Meyer.
Once each month, one of these divis
ions has charge of the meeting, At
the other meeting there is a general
discussion bv all members.

wrecking of the Tanners and Drovers'
National Bank of Wayncsbiirg two
years ago. in which his father lost
heavily, is directly concerned in the sui
cide of Ir.i Minor, twenty-four, presi
dent of the senior class in Wayncsbiirg
College, whose lmdv was found in the
home of a fritnd.

letters to his parents and college chums
in which he expressed his fear that

retiring he covered himself with bed
clothing and shot himself in the heart.

Vernon County Club Formed.
The students from Vernon county
met at the Y. W. C. A. house Tuesday
night and formed a county club with I
