Thlrtjr.two Men Are Entered In Fall
The fall tennis tournamenfbegan yes
terday under the direction of Captain
Williams. Thirty-two men are enter
ed and, judging from the drawings,
some exciting matches will take place.
This ia the largest fall entry that
Missouri has had for several years.
Two matches were played yesterday
morning. Bridelle Jesse disposed of
George Baldwin in straight sets; G-3
and G-3. The second match was be
tween John Hornback and H. li.
Thompson. The sets were hard fought,
but owing to the high wind skillful
playing wth almost impossible. Horn
back won the last two sets and the
match; G-4, G-4 after losing the first
All tournament matches will be
played on courts 1 and 2 and all
players, unless competing in a tourna
ment match, will be kept off these two
courts. The results of each day's
play will bo posted In the gymnasium.
The first round matches will bo play
ed before this evening or the delin
quents will be defaulted.
The entry list for double will be
closed this cveening. Ten teams have
enter the doubles so far. "The tourna
ment, In both singles and doubles, will
be completed In two weeks.
Silver loving cups will be given the
Doctor Ellwood to Speak.
Dr. Charles A. Ellwood will speak
at the regular meeting of the Y- W.
