Miss Zada Gladish and Albert
Behrens were united in the holy
bonds of wedlock last Sunday
afternoon at 2 o'clock at the
home of the bride's parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Wash Gladdish; Rev.
Clarence Burton officiating. On
ly the immediate friends and
relatives were present. The
bride and groom have been resi
dents of this city all their lives
and not until a few weeks ago
did we learn that we were to
lose this young couple; when the
groom accepted a position with
the R. J. & R. Shoe Co., of St.
Louis, in the capacity as book
keeper, he announced his inten
tions of coming back for his
bride, which he departed with
Sunday shortly after the cere
mony. The young couple ea-
j caped their friends here in an
auto, but the rice throwers fol
lowed them to the Cape where
they administed the rice befor
they could catch the St. Louis
train. The bride and groom will
make their future home in St.
Louis. The Jackson rice con

Mrs. Nancy Turnbaugh, died
at tne home of her daughter.
Mrs. Annie Obermiller, in this

Brookfield, Ind., May 25, 1822.
In 1836 she was united in mar
riage to John J. Turnbaugh.
They moved to this city in 1850,
where she lived continuously un
til her death. Funeral services
were held in the Baptist church
Wednesday afternoon by Rev.
Ayers. She leaves five children
to mourn her loss; Dr. 'J'. Ben
Turnbaugh of Bloomfield; Mrs.
M. T. Dikinson, of Kanaas City,
Mrs. Jennie Smith of Lajolla,
Cal., Mrs. Annie Obermiller of
this city and Mrs. Florence A.
Brooks of the Cape. Her hus
band died on the 23 of June,
1873.
