Tile Board of Trade Meeting.
Tha Board of Trade met Monday
.night to receive the correspondents
of the St. Louis Hepublie who are
here to write up our city. The meet
ing was called to order by Mr. L. J.
Albert, President of the Board of
Trade, who stated the wbjoct of the
meeting. Mr. Albert, in a very polite
and appropriate manner, welcomed
the correspondents to the city and as
sured them that they would be cour
teously entertained during their stay
in the city. Mr. Albert was respand
ed to by John V. Corley, managor of
the correspondents, who in a few-
words outlined the work the cor
respondents were nere to do.
Frank E. Burrough and Dr. S. S,
Harris talked to tne assembly very
encouragingly for a few minutes. The
meeting then adjourned.

Ordinance No. SUi
An ordinance to authorize the Mayor
of the city of Cape Girardeau to con
vey out lot "H" to the School Dis
trict of Cape Girardeau city.
WHEREAS, By deed, dated Septem
ber Ilth, W-V, Liouis Lionmier, Daniel
F. Steinbeck, Victor Lorimier and
Thomas S. Rodney, guardian of
Thomas J. Kadney and Polly Ivodney,
heirs at law of Don Louis Lorimier,
did, among otner property, in con
sideration of one dollar and divers
good considerations and more par
ticularly for the cenvenience and en
couragement of tha inhabitants of the
town of Cape Girardeau and owners
of lots in or near the same, convey to
the inhabitants of the said town of
Cape Girardeau out lot "H" in tha
city and county of Cape Girardeau
and State of Missouri, containing
about three acres and a quarter,
bounded eastwardly by Pacific street
and westwardly by John Scripp's pur
chase of six acres, on the north by
out lot "G" and on the south by out
lot "I," which lot including a large
spring is destined for the establish
ment of a public school.
And whereas the School District of
Cape Girardeau city in the Stat of
Missouri is the only public school ex
clusively for tha benefit af the in
habitants of the said town of Cape
Girardeau and the owners of lots in or
near the same;
And whereas the will and purpose
of said grantors in said deed will be
carried out by the conveyance f said
out lot "H" to the School District of
Cape Girardeau city.
Therefore. Be it ordained by the
Council of the city of Cape Girardeau,
Missouri, as follows:
Section One(1), That the Mayor
of the city of Caps tiirardeau be and
he is hereby authorized to execute a
deed f remissing, releasing and for
ever quitclaiming to. the School Dis
trict of Caoe Girardeau city in the
state of Missouri, all right, title and
interest of said city in and to said out
lot "H" for the use ana oenent lorever
of the public schools of the School
District of Cape Girardeau city and
Section Two (2). This ordinance
shall take effect and be in force from
and after its passage.

Missouri, the following order was en
tered of record, viz:

tile Trust Company by Elneious
Smith its attorney, and Edward Hid
den by A. N. Edwards his attorney,"
and the Court having seen and heard
the motion of plaintiff asking this
Court to fix the time within which all
claims, including holders of detached
coupons against the St. Louis, Cae
Girardeau & Ft. Smith Railway Com
pany shall be presented to this Court
for adjudication and the Court now
being fully advised thereof, doth or
der and adjudge that all parties to
whieh the St Louis, Cape Girardeau
Jc Ft. Smith Railway Company are
indebted, in any way, or on any ac
count, including the holders of de
tached coupons, shall, on or before
the 15th day of June next, present and
file the same in this Court for proof
and adjustment, and if not presented
and filed on or before said 15th day
of June next, the same shail be for
And it is further ordered by the
Court that a copy of this order lie
published, once a week, for four weeks
in some newspaper published in the
cities f New York, St. Louis and
Cape Girardeau, and that the first in
sertion of said notice to lie made
within twenty davs. from and after the
10th day of January lS'.Mi.

Court that a printed copy of this or
der be posted in each of the depots
belonging to the St. Louis, Cape Gir
ardeau & Ft. Smith Railway Com
pany by the Receiver of this Court,
