-rJr-,^^ "S J? OBITUARY MAGNUS NELSON Magnus E. Nelson passed away last Sunday evening. June 13. at his home in Manure township after a long illness of diabetes. He was born October 25, 1870, in Town of Mamre and attained the age of 49 years, 7 months and 18 days at time of death. The funeral was held Thursday. June 17, at the Mamrelund Lutheran church. Rev. Aimer of New London officiated. Solos were rendered by Miss Ruth Holmgren and Mrs. Aimer at the house. A duet was sung by Miss Holmgren and Mrs. Krantz, also an other solo by Mrs. Aimer at the church. The pall bearers were A. L. Beck man, S. Steberg. F. N. Anderson, Ed die Lindgren. August and Manney Jonson. The flower bearers were the Misses Edith Beckman, Edna John son, Helen. Lydia and Viola Hokan son and Alice Franberg. He leaves to mourn his departure his aged mother, two sisters Anna and Mrs. Andrew Lindquist and four brothers, Emil, Oscar, Andrew and George besides other relatives and friends. He was laid to rest in the Mamre lund Lutheran cemetery. SALEM June 21.—Alex Johanson went to Min neapolis Thursday for a visit. Miss Klhi Xoland attended the spell ing contest in Benson Friday. She won I the third prize. Selseth-Boe On Saturday evening at eight thirty o'clocn Rev. Arnt Vaaler united in miarriage. Mis3 Esther F. Boe, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Boe of Sun burg and Harold Selseth. son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Selseth of this city. The ceremony was performed in the par sonage of the Synod Lutheran church in the presence of intimate friends. The bride wore a gown of beaded georgette of flesh color tint and car ried a bouquet of bride's roses. She was attended by the Misses Anna Lindquist and Harda Selseth who act ed as bridesmaids. Among those pres ent were several from a distance who arrived to attend the union of this well known couple. The groom is em ployed at the Great Northern Store bouse in this city. The happy two will be found after June 28th at the A. H. Hanson residence on High st. & Manilia Ave. The Tribune extends its best wishes. —Edgar Mattson and Willard Lund quist returned Tuesday evening last week from a visit in the Twin Cities. The wedding rites were solemnized at the German Lutheran church on the evening of June 17th at seven-thirty o'clock, the officiating pastor being Rev. F. C. Rathert of that church. Guests to the number of sixty were in attendance at the ceremony and thru out the day visited the newlyweds. The young lady was gowned in white georgetta and carried a shower bou quet of bride's roses and sweet peas. She was accompanied thru the cere mony by the bride's maid, Mrs. Theor dore Moll of St. Cloud who was at tired in white satin and georgette and carried pink carnations. -Miss Erna Moll was the Maid of Honor and is a sister of the bride. She likewise car ried pink carnations. The groomsmen were Theodore Moll a cousin of the bride and Bernard Kahmeyer,. a brother of the groom, who acted as best man. Miss Erna, the maid of honor wore a gown of crepe de chine. A three course dinner was served to the guests at the home of the bride where the rooms oi the reception were prettily decorated. The living room was beautified for the occasion with pink and white color schemes and the dining room in green and white. Among the guests there were a number from a distance: Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Kahmeyer, Mr. and Mro. G. H. Kahmeyer, William Moll and daughter Adeline and Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Moll of St. Cloud. The groom, lis an enterprising jeweler in the village of Atwater and has the •4 LOT 3 LOT 4 good wishes and good will of all his friends and congratulations for his choice of a life partner. The Tribune joins in expressing its congratulations. Two Future Voters Arrive Two suffragettes arrived at the home of Alderman C. J. Freeberg on primary election night. The little twin girls are doing nicely and all is well, reports Carl, who wears a smile that does not come off. Former Iowa People Fraternize On Friday evening, June 18, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bengtson on West Fifteenth Street, a pleasant eve ning was spent by a number of peo ple who have located at or near WiH mar, whose former residence was Ma drid, Iowa. About seventy persons attended. Games on the lawn, music, singing and reading were enjoyed by those present.* Ice cream, cake and coffee were served. IRVING June 22nd.—Mrs. Elen Norbastad left for an extended visit with her son, An drew, last Saturday at Ryegate, Mont., by the way of Minneapolis.. Enfraa Christianson accompanied her to Min neapolis. All her friends were sad to see her go but wish her a safe journey and that she will feel at home in the State of Montana. Susag returned from Arlington last week and went to the Camp meet ing at St. Paul Park. John Dahlang and Arthur Lorentzen repaired the windmill at S. O. Susag's last week. Many from this community attended the political talk given by Mr. Townley at Norway Lake on Sunday. The crowd was very large and they all had the pri\flege to see Mr. Townley come down in his aeroplane. Regina Donney, who graduated from the Paynesville High School this sprins. has taken up a course of study at the St. Cloud Normal and left for that place last week. Mrs. Martin Christenson left last Monday for Outlook, Can., where she will spend some time with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Oluf Christenson. Mrs. H. E. Pederson and daughter. Hannah and Louise and son Henry, went to Minneapolis, last Monday to attend the wedding of Myrtle Mykklebust. The young people returned on Thursday but Mrs. Pederson visited a few days long er with relatives and friends. Everybody, who possibly could, went to Hawick to cast their votes at th. primary election last Monday. The Young People's Society of the Nordland church will have a picnic on Big Sandy at Lake Koronis the 4th July. Program will be given and freshments sold. All are welcome. The sad news reached us that Fred Monson of New London ended his own life by shooting himself last week. Emma Christianson and Olga Hogan son are employed as salesladies at the Wm.
