Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hellmann spent several hours on Tuesday visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Mues ing at Gibbon. Emmanuel Manderfeld of Minnea polis is visiting at the home of h\M parents, County Clerk and Mrs. Carl P. Manderfeld. Mrs. Christ Bertelson has returned to her home in Fairfax following a visit at the Ed. Wagner home on South Minnesota street. Gag's four-piece orchestra furnisred the music for an old-t:me dance at Hardegger's pavilion at Lake Jeffer son last Tuesday evening. Misses Alpha and Adelia Schreyer spent a week visiting at adelia at the home of their uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. August Fedder. Mrs. H. Littlechild returned to her home in Sibley, Iowa, on Thursday, following a visit at the Philip Liesch and August Berndt homes in this city. Donald Besmehn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur H. Besmehn, residing on South Broadway, had his tonsils re moved at the Union hospital Monday morning. Carl Fedder of Madelia was a re cent business visitor in New New Ulm. While here he also visited at the Wil liam Schreyer home on North Jeffer son street. Miss Sally Bethke has returned to her home in New Ulm after spending her summer vacation with relatives and friends at Rockford, Eden Valley St. Paul and Minneapolis. Mr George Schuler and-daughter Loraine have returned from St. James, where they visited for several daysMast week at the Frank McChane and Dr. George Johnson homes there. Wesley C. Miller, who is now en gaged in the real estate business at Bellingham, Minn., has leased his home on South Minnesota street to Attorney and Mrs. T. 0. Streis?guth. Mr. and Mrs. George Guldan, ac companied by Miss Alpha end Edwin Schreyer, motored to Jordan on Sun day. Mrs. Guldan is receiving treat ments for rheumatic at Mudbaden Sul/hur Springs. Mr. and Mrs. Peter P. Schmid, newlyweds, who have been making their home on the Val Orth farm on Route 2, have removed to a farm in the vicinity of Sleepy Eye, where they will make their home. Mrs. Otto Kitzrow returned on Satur day to her home here following a week's visit at the Wenzel Pitka home in Gib bon. Mrs. Charles Kitzrow, who had been visiting the past week at the home of Mr. and Mrs: Fred Kitzrow near Gib bon, has returned to her home here. Robert Henle returned on Thursday to his home in Virginia after visiting here for several days at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. and Mrs. Athanas Henle. Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Berndt returned on Thursday from a two weeks' visit at the home of relatives and friends at Oshkosh, Wisconsin. They made the trip in their car. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Frantz of Cobden are the parents of a daughter born on Monday, September 25th. Mrs. Frantz is a daughter of Mrs. Emily Reinhart of this city. Mr. and 'Mrs. John Henle and Mr. and Mrs. Frank C. Schnobrich mo tored to Alexandria on Saturday to visit at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hubbel for several days. Sam Abrahamson who has been con valescing from the effects of a recent operation performed at the Union hos pital, returned to his home ia St. Peter Wednesday, very much improved in health. Mrs. John Zupfer and baby daugh ter returned on Sunday from Mdrgan where she had been visiting for a week at the home of her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mre. E. T. Otto and family. Arnie Schwieger, little son of Mr. arid Mrs. J, A. Schwieger of Comfrey, had his tonsils removed at the Loretto hospital on Thursday morning. He wa3 accompanied here by Dr. Eck stein of Comfrey. Edwin Tauer, who has been employed as assistant cashier in the State Bank, at Miltona for some time past, has accepted a similar position with the State Bank at Wheelock, N. D. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs Edwin Tauer residing on North State Street. Miss Mildred Meyer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Meyer, has re sumed her studies at the state univer sity. This is her junior year. Mrs. Meyer accompanied her daughter, and will visit in the cities for several weeks before returning. •N: Cornelius Saffert left on Tuesday morning for Minneapolis where he has entered the medical school of "the, Min nesota university. He was accompanied to the cities by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Saffert and sister, Ber nadotte and Mrs Jos. J. Dietz. E. T. Anderson of Lafayette had the misfortune to seriously injure his left eye while chopping wood at his home on Monday. A piece of kindling struck him, and it was found necessary to re move him to the local Union Hospital where effort* are being made to save the eye. Amann have returned from their wedding trip and have gone to housekeeping on North Broadway. Miss Elsie Radtke spent Thursday at Redwood Falls where she* visited with relatives and friends. She also took occasion to visit at the county fair. Fred Alwin arrived here Sunday from Sleepy Eye and is making ,a week's visit at the home of his 'brother, A. A. Jensen of Nicollet were"in New Ulm last Thursday on business connected with the new well which is being sunk^ in Nicollet village. Walter Olson of St. Paul spent the week-end visiting at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emil R. Olson on South Broadway and with his sister, Mrs. John A. Schneider. ,. Misses Gertrude and Philomine Es ser, who are attending school at Man kato spent the week-end visiting here with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Barney Esser on South, Minnesota street. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Forster and son Jack visited on Saturday at the home of 'Mrs. Barbara Schnobrich at Sleepy Eye. Mrs. Schnobrich and the Forsters were formerly neighbors while the Forsters resided in Sleepy Eye. Mr. and Mrs. Athanas Henle," their son Robert and Mrs. Theo. Schwen dinger motored to Marshall on Sunday. They attended the christening of Mr. and Mrs. Henle's grandson Ray mond, son of Mr and Mrs. A. J. Henle. Mrs. Carl Kohls returned to her home in Morgan on Friday after under going an operation at the Union hospi tal for appendicitis and gallstones. Mrs. Kohls is convalescing as well as can be expected, and her health is very much improved. Mrs. Anna Schmitt and son George spent Sunday at the John Ffeundel home near Mankato. They returned Sunday evening accompanied by Mrs. and Mrs." John Freundel and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Johnson, who spent a few hours in New Ulm. Mr. and Mrs. William P. Stork of Tyler and Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Krauch of St. Paul visited on Sunday at the Union hospital at the bedside of August Stork.- At the time of writing, Mr. Stork was not resting well, but his relatives and friends look forward to his recovery. John Christopherson, who has been employed in the law office of Somsen, Dempsey & Flor for the past eight years, has left for St. Paul where he will enter the St* Paul college of law for a regular four-year course. Mr. Christopherson has worked for the local firm since his arrival here from Marshall, with the ex ception of one year, when he was in the service.. .•.•-•:. Emil Ellingson, who hai been re ceiving medical attention at the Lo retto Hospital for the past several months, returned to his home in Lam berton on Monday. It will be re membered that Mr. Ellingson^had the misfortune to have both of his legs brokett when his automobile, which was inNgear jammed him against the wall of the garage when he attempted to crank? the car. They made the trip by car, the latter two returning the same eve ning. .._ Miss Ella Ahle returned on Monday from a six month's visit with relatives and friends in California. Miss Ahle left New Ulm last March, going to Omaha, Nebi,, to visit with her sister, and then on to California where she visited at different places. Most of the time was spent at the home of her aunt in Los Angeles. She will remain at home with her parents, Mr. and Mrs Christ Ahle residing on North Frank lin street for a time. Mi-s. Vivian Dora spent the week end in Minneapolis and St.. Paul where she attended the ityle shows of fall and winter millinery by" Milwaukee and Chicago miltihers. She w^s ac companied by the Misses Ilda and Ju lia Hauenstein, who visited with rela tives during their stay. They drove back to New Ulm oh Sunday after noon and were accompanied by Mrs. W. B. Paterson who is the guest of the Hauensteins this week. ^,.' They returned to the Cities on Monday afternoon. Sam Starr of Tracy, who is at the Union hospital, where he^ is receiving medical attention and care is improving and is resting very nicely. Relatives and friends from Tracy visited with him at the hospital during the past week, and hope that Mr, Starr may soon recover his strength and complete health. .*' .- ~J Manager Eidsvold of the^ Minnesota Central creamery will leave on Sunday for the Cities where he will attend the dairy show on Monday.
