Prof. T. L. AKen, the talented band and orchestra leader, left Tuesday for Minocqua. Wis., to accept a position as leader of brass and string organizations. Local musical circles have felt the effects of the pressing times, and while reiuctant to see Prof. Allen depart it was with aknowl edge that his labors here brought but trifling remuneration for a musician of his high standing. It would seem that it is now for those most materially interested in such highway to take the mat ter in hand. Dominic Burns left Wednesday for a trip to his homestead, on the Whiteface river. The Fair and Festival by the ladies of the Swedish Lutheran Church at the Hayes block, Sat urday evening last, was well at tended and a neat sum was net ted from the entertainment.
