Miss Emma Helm underwent an oper ation at the St. Vincent hospital at 'Crookston on Thursday morning, but is Reported as doing nicely at present. Mr3. James A. Stroble and daughter Ijola, were Crookston callers on Thurs day evening. Mrs. H. Osterloh and daughter Katie autoed to Warren on Thursday. The play given by the Ladies' Aid on Friday evening was a grand success. The parts were all well taken, and they entertained a full house. J. Fillensworth left for his home in TJritt, Iowa, after spending some time looking after farm interests near Angus. Miss Eliza Stranger spent Sunday with home folks at St. Vincent. Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Helm autoed to Crookston on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. John South were guests at the H. Osterloh home on Sunday. Miss Amanda Hanson was a Crooks ton caller on Thursday. Mrs. R. E. Newberger left for Grand Forks on Monday evening after spend ing a couple of weeks with relatives here. Harry Millar arrived here on Monday evening from Thief River Falls. Mr. and Mrs. C. Abbot, of Grand Forks, visited at the home of their sis ter, Mrs. O. W. Hauglid, a couple days last week. Mr. and Mrs. O. Tausau, of Warren, autoed down to- their brother, J. B. "Goodwin, on Monday afternoon. J. F. Montgomery and A. V. Hunt autoed to Farley on business on Mon day evening. I ALVARADO I The following autoed to Argyle last Friday evening where they attended the church carnival and made a call on Miss Ruby Anderson: Mrs. H. Back strom, Mrs. N. Backstrom, Mr. and Mrsr Garfield Anderson, Misses Brown, Min nie Anderson and Lavina Nordlund and Ole Brager, Sammy Porten and Walter Backstrom. Fifty voices strong in the rendition of Handel's Messiah next Wednesday evening at the school auditorium is up permost in our minds now. Mr. Westlund went to Adams, N. D., Saturday mornnig, where he conducted services in the Swedish Lutheran church Sunday. He returned Monday evening. Do not fail to attend the concert Wednesday, May 14. In case of rain the concert will be given on the follow ing evening. Frank Dahlgren, daughter Delia, and ^Harriet Olson autoed to Marsh Grove Sunda afternoon. Harry Bliss, a son of C. D. Bliss, of Minneapolis, arrived Tuesday morning to make a couple of weeks visit at the home of his uncle, C. O. Olson. The "Messiah", given by over fifty voices from Warren, will attract people from all the surrounding townships :next Wednesday evening. Secure your tickets early. Concert will begin at -8:30 o'clock. Arthur Allen, Edwin Stavig, Ole Aure, Ludvig Anderson and Arthur Pilgrim are some more of our boys who have informed their relatives and friends of-their safe arrival from over seas. Look for the posters announcing the Messiah concert. Miss Brown, the principal of the schools, will give you the necessary information. Mrs. M. Sands, Mr. L. Larson and Mr. Frank Dahlgren autoed to Oslo Mon day afternoon. Miss Marion Hilden, of Oslo, is visit ing her aunt, Mrs. Lewis Sands, a few daysf Miss Ollie Porten spent Sunday and Monday visiting home folks, returning to Warren Monday evening, where she attends North Star College. We will meet you next Wednesday evening, May 14th. In case Of rain, we will meet on the following evening. Miss Lydia Iverson returned last Friday, after visiting her sister, Mrs. J. Hedlund, of Vega, for a couple of weeks. Peter Grinde and family are"vacating the house they have lived in and are' to move to Warren.
