David Johnson, of Warren, and Qunderson, of Thief River Falls, the plat drawn out by these men and submitted for the approval of the State Department of Education con cerning the consolidation of the Wil lowdale, Rosebank, Busy Bee and Pri chard school districts, has been return ed with the Departments O. K. and the districts may now proceed with the necessary details for the materializa tion of the plan. The first step neces sary is the securing of at least twenty five per cent of /the signatures of the freeholders within each district, and upon presentation of which the county superintendent will call special elec tions within each district to vote upon the matter. At this election all persons eligible to vote at the regular school meetings will have the opportunity" to cast their vote. Petitions to secure the bonafide signatures are at present being circulated by different men In the dis tricts and without doubt the necessary number will be had in a few days, and the -public will then be called, upon to determine whether the one roomed schoolhouses shall still exist for some time, or if the more modern and ad vantageous consolidation plan shall be inaugurated. The monthly social and the semi- l. jf annual business meeting of the Rindal young Peoples' Society was held at that church last Sunday afternoon, and was BOYS' SUITS FO well attended. The introductory speech was given by Rev. Geo. Larson,, of Thief River Falls, after which a short program was rendered by the children. Personal mention may be accredited Misses Clara Thoreson and Myrtle Mellem, who presented "Lord, I'm com ing Home" and a few other songs very harmoniously with voice and organ. The election of officers for the coming six months resulted as follows: Chair man, Miss Ida Sorenson Secretary, Selmar Sorenson Treasurer, Miss Synneva Sorenson. As program com mittee were elected Misses Selma Sor ernson, Ella Nelson and Evelyn Saugen, and as refreshment committee, Mrs. John Rafteseth and Misses Esther Thoreson and Viola Axelson. A taste ful luncheon arranged by Mesdames Gust Nakken and Albert Paulson was served before closing. The Oscar Blomberg family, of Crookston, motored up last Sunday to visit with the Haugen and Blomberg families here and to bring home their son Herman, who has -spent a few months vacation here, but will return to renew his school duties. Miss Gladys Swenson left the latter part of the week for Fargo, where she will attend high school this winter. Miss Lydia Batten, who will teach this season at the Central school at Thief River Falls, left on Sunday to commence her work. Miss Laura Kron, who will teach this winter at a consolidated school near Fargo, left the middle of the week for that place. Werner Drotts, of Viking, was in town over last Sunday and conduct ed services at the Swedish church. Miss Paulson, of Gully, has spent a few days in town this week as a guest with J. E. Thompson. John Rafteseth is erecting a new granary on his farm north*of town Anton Gullseth is building a new gar age and Ben Peterson is building an addition to his residence. Mrs. T. Mellem left the latter part (ft the week for Viking to assist with the home work during the illness and death of the infant baby of Mr. and Mrs. S. S. Nordgaard, of that place. Miss Mabel Lappegaard has been em ployed.at the A. Myrom home this week, taking the place of Minnie Myrom, who is attending the state fair. Miller Kruta and Lloyd Alnes left the latter part of the week for Hamline to attend the state fair.* John Baften left on Saturday morn ing for Kenmare, N. D., to visit and at tend business for a brief period. Otto Axelson is ill and under doctors care for a disease of the heart. Mr.'and Mrs. Ernest Styrlund and children, Mrs. J. Styrlund, Miss Ethel Styrlund, of Viking, and two of the Peter Voiss' youngsters of Grand Forks, visited at the John Sor home one even ing during the week. Several auto loads of people from this vicinity motored to Thief River Falls last Sunday and Monday to at tend the American Legion post races.
