Please remember your annual meeting! ^So 'far as consistent all voting members should be present. Then, too, wewish to make mention that at the forenoon service Christmas Day at the Elim church a touching ltttte scene tooknglace. made and carried that at the Elim Young People's Society's New Year's wake an offering be lifted for the bene fit of the famine stricken Chinese. And certainly tbis is a very noble and timely motion for a most worthy cause, where fore we request and kindly urge for a good attendance that evening. What a grand thing it is to think that our dear people are so spirited as to re member our brethren in distress across the still waters of the Pacific. God's choicest blessings cannot but be the re sult of 'such kindheartedness, for He says: "Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days." While it is true that even we sometimes meet with adverse conditions in life, it is also true that ours is the great privilege to be citizens in the land of plenty and every day God more than supplieth our needs. To Him be praise and glory forever Taking all things into consideration there can hardly be a comparison be-' tween us and our less fortunate breth ren in certain sections of Europe and Asia. Think of the millions upon mil lions of poverty and famine' stricken Chinese to say nothnig of the appalling conditions in southern Europe. May their cry for sustenance stir our hearts to action. It is a splendid way where by to ring out the old and ring in the New Year. So please don't forget the New Year's wake and to give as the love of God prompts you to give. "God loveth a cheerful giver and let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not." I North of Warren A Happy New Year to one and all.
