G. Dols. Joel E. Shoberg* was re-elected as secretary-treasurer. Mr. Mike Robe is making Monroe school hit home Just At present A number of pupils have bad coughs colds. m m+ I 4^ i /-ANNUAL CHURCH MEETING The annual business meeting of the"Take Rindal Lutheran church was held last Tuesday afternoon in connection with the monthly Ladies' Aid meeting of the same church. Rev. Geo. Larson of Thief River Falls the present pas tor was re-elected for another year. As treasurer to succeed B. P. Sag-found moen, who resigned, was elected Swen Swenson. Deacons for the coming year are Martin Evenson and A. T. Thoreson, Trustees Sievert Rafteseth and Evan Anderson, and janitor and bell attendant P. Sorenson. Gust Nakken will act as sexton of the cem etery grounds connected with the church. Before closing the ladies .serv ed the customary lunch with coffee. The annual Christmas tree festival of the Rindal congregation will be held this year in connection with the Rosebank "pupils school program at the church on Friday evening, Dec. 23, and to which the public is cordially invited. Subscription lists are volun teered the same as in former years to finance the event, which will be the largest in the community this Christmas. The Busy Bee school will stage a program and Christmas festival at the srliool building on Thursday evening, Dee. 22nd, and to which the public is heartriy invited. Rev F. O Anderson, of BaUdette, will visit town next Wednesday and will speak at the Congregational chureli in the evening at 7 30. Gladys Swenson, clerk at the Carl son store, was taken ill last week with a complication throat and chest ailments and is receiving medical at tention at Thief River Falls. Postmaster Herbert Carlson was laid up the beginning of the week with a bad swelling of the throat and was unable to attend his business for several days, being relieved by S. Sorenson. Fire started fioin lhe coals placed in a wooden box together with the ashes at the cream station last Wed uesday afternoon and for awhile look ed rather threatening, but with the unitecr*efforts of several men and wa ter^ and snow it was checked after burning away part of the wall near the sto*e. A large quantity of creani was in the building at the time. Mrs. T. Mellem came home on Thursday evening from Viking, where she has been visiting with her daugh ter, Mrs. S. S. Nordegaard, for a week. Mrs. M. Holson arrived on Tues day evening from Warren to be theday guest for a few days ofc her daughter, Mrs. Carl Mellem. Mrs. Ina Thompson, from Gully, is guest this week with her son James Thompson in town. Several carloads of people from here went to Thief River Falls last Sun day 'to attend the funeral of Miss Agnes Remmem. Emil Hellquist haa the misfortune last Saturday evening when returning home in company with a few friends from Thief River ^Falls of breaking a front wheej spindle on his Briscoe car a short'distance west of that city and had to leave the car at a farm until repairs 'could be made. The text for the evening was Prov. 20:1 "Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging, and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise." All songs, recitations, etc., were based on this text. The program commenced by the singing of song No. 4. Scripture reading and prayer by the president. Song num ber 224 by the audience, after which Dr. Lindquist gave a very interesting talk against liquor and showed by scriptures what would happen to those that indulge in strong drink. He also mentioned, that there are more people making it than ever before. Mrs. Engen sang, "Hans Hjerte var Nar vid at bnste." Juvel Nelson gave a recitation "A New Alphabet." Mrs. C. S.
