The Iron Workers.
Pittsbi'rg, Aug. 11. — The convention o
tbe Amalgamated association met at the
usual hour this morning and adjourned at
noon for dinner. The officials refused to
give the proceedings to the press, but from
some of the delegates who are not averse to
taking, it was learned that the session was
taken up entirely with routine business and
hearing reports of committees. The ques
tion of the nailers' and feeders' wages wus
adjusted by the grievance committee, who
advised a continuance of the old scale This
report occasioned a heated discussion, but
was finally adopted. In the afternoon the
committee on revision of the constitution re
ported in favor of changing the time of hold
ing the annual scale convention from the
second Saturday in March to a later date.
This, together with other radical changes,
was reported and adopted. Tbe members,
however, refused to say what other changes
were made. The convention will probably
not adjourn before Wednesday.
