The plat of Zimmerman's addition, which
bas been approved by the plat commission,
examined by the city engineer and favorably
acted upon by the council, lias disappeared
and no trace of It cau be found.
The trial of the John Graff suit against the
city for 1500 damages for flooding his prem-
ises by the Pleasant avenue grading im-
provement, was taken up before a jury in
district court late yesterday alternoon.
A grand complimentary ball is to be given
to Mr. L. A. Normandin by his many
friends, the latter part of this month, at
Market hall. Our next Issue will give date,
music and floor managers of the grand ball.
The lyeeum of the First M E. church will
be held at the parlors of tnat church to-night,
commencing at 7:30 promptly. The •'Eng-
lish Commonwealth" will be discussed,
while the programme abounds with recitations
and music.
Edward II. Elbrot In presentation of cer-
tificates from the supreme courts of Missouri
and Iowa, aud of good character was admitted
In the supreme court yesterday to practice In
the courts of Minnesota, and will open an of-
office at Minneapolis.
The first entertainment of the Park church
club will be given this evening In the chapel
corner Holly avenue and Mackubin street
(St. Anthony hill.) The entertainment will
be literary aud musical. The public are cor-
dially invited to attend.
Mary Gilmore, who was committed to the
House of Good Shepherds a couple of weeks
ago, met witb an accident at that institution
Wednesday night, and broke one of her legs.
She was on yesterday removed to the city
hospital in the patrol wagon.

The funeral of the late Charles Kellerman,
proprietor of the St. Paul house on West
Seventh street, took place at 2 o'clock yes-
terday. The remains were escorted to their
final resting place by the Sons of Herman
and a delegation from the A. O. U. W., pre-
ceded by the First Regiment band.
Major Victor Hyorteberg was present at
the drill exercise of company D, last evening
and his bosom swelled with pride at their
proficiency. The major mustered Captain
Bean and his proficient squad into service
and as the grandfather of the company had
a right to say out loud ••Gud bless you, my
military grandchildren."
At a meeting 'A Club Minnesota Inde-
pendent Order of Foresters, held Tuesday
evening, the following officers were elected i
President, Geo. Thane; secretary, W. B.
Kennedy; treasurer, John H. MeFarlin.

The action, brought by Wm. Mc Adams
against Wallow & Co., employment agents.
In Minneapolis, last March, to recover $306
alleged damages for loss of time and money
in making a trip to St. Louis under fraudu-
lent representations by the latter regarding
the procurement of work, bas been transfer-
red to Ramsey county for trial by order of
Judge Young.
John James Kelly presented himself for
lodgings at the city hull last evening, and
bearing a description of the ••Ned," who was
accused by John Dunkley of knocking him
.own and trying to go through him near
Irvine park on Wednesday evening, was
locked up on suspicion. He gave his natlou-
ility as a Yorkshire Englishman, and stated he
had been at work out in the Rockies.
There seems to be no lack of opportunity
for reaching New Orleans cheaply and ex-
peditiously. D. E. Roselle, announci I else-
where that he has arranged for an excursion
leaving St. Paul and Minneapolis on the af-
ternoon of the 22d and reaching New Orleans
Christmas morning. The party goes in
Pullman palace cars for #32.50 the round
trip, and $8 for sleeping berth, round trip.
This is as cheap as the cheapest. All the
details appear In Mr. Roselle's announce-
ment.
A railroad man named West, and hailing
from New York, was brought into the city
hall early last evening, claiming that lie was
very strangely ill from what he thought was
drugged sherry wine. He had been drink-
ing this beverage at several places with some
new fonnd friends here, and at the last place,
thinking he had been dosed, made his es
cape from them and went into the opera
house. Here be was so ill that he came out
and reported to an officer, although he felt
better on getting into the open air.
Frank Sawyer and his pardner vagrant,
Richard Corley, came in for lodging at the
city hall last evening, and were promptly
placed in cells. Sawyer is the vagrant whom
John Costar, held to the grand jury in the
municipal court yesterday, for stealing Dr.
Ignatius Donnelly's coat, gave the coat to
sell. He was, however, so cunning that
when he was wanted as a witness against
Costar in the trial he kept out of ' tbe way,
even to the extent of. sleeping in a barn on
Wednesday night.
Loud and bitter complaint is made at the
office of the city treasurer _ dally by the
laborers employed on the Oukdale street
grading under coutract with Smyth & F.r-
rell. It is said that many of the men have
not been r-ai.l in mouths and that there is
now due 120 of the workmen an aggregate
Di §4,000 on the work. It is understood that
th. contractors refuse to give the men their
lime checks that a number of the men
have lile.i claims with the city treasurer.
Most of them are very poor and are in ab-
solute want. The mutter should be inves-

second accident that has occurred at
this rink. About three weeks
■go a man who awe skating
tbere fell, and a revolver in bis pocket was
discharged, injuring another person. Yes-
ter-lay, Miss II .linger, who is a good skater,
was skating with another lady who was not
much of a performer on the rollers and who
fell, bringing Miss Hetinger down with her.
Miss Hetin.cr says she felt the bones snap
when she fell. She was taken to her friend's
residence at No. 474 ' Roliert street, where
she was properly taken care of. Dr. Talbot
Jones was called to attend to the case and
the unlortunate lady is doing very well.
